Essential Functions:
- Refer to Article 7.0 in the OFA contract
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
- Knowledge of Registered Nursing scope of practice. Knowledge of the Law & Rules of the Ohio Board of Nursing that regulates Nursing practice.
- Knowledge of educational theory and practice in nursing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Computer Applications and Blackboard
- Knowledge of the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice.
- Good general communication skills with students, staff, faculty and administration.
- Computer skills including power point, excel or access, word processing, e-mail. Tying skills. General Registered Nursing Skills.
- Effective presentation skills in the classroom and clinical area.
- Able to provide care to a patient, group of patients.
- Able to direct student nurses in the performance of nursing care.
- Able to direct adjunct faculty assigned to the faculty member's courses.
- Able to organize, plan and deliver educational lessons for students.
- Able to lead groups of students in educational exercises.
- Able to prioritize and make effective clinical decisions in the health care agency with a group of students.
- Supportive and committed to the goals of the Nursing Department and the School of Nursing.
- Cooperative with faculty, staff, students and administration.
- Caring and positive attitude and approach to students and members of the Nursing Department.
- Professional demeanor. Visionary and flexible in approach.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree
- At least two (2) years in the practice of nursing as a Registered Nursing
