Posting Text | The Biology and Microbiology Department at South Dakota State University invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor. This position is in the discipline of Molecular Biology and will also serve as Coordinator for the Functional Genomics Core Facility. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in fluorescence and confocal microscopy with the skills and desire to teach microscopy theory and train users in microscopy applications to research, a strong desire for multidisciplinary research collaborations, an interest in teaching, and experience in research in an area that aligns with the mission of the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. This position is supervised by the Department Head of Biology and Microbiology. The expected start date is June 2022. SDSU is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings that address the experiences of underrepresented minorities in organizations. Successful candidates are expected to have or demonstrate the potential to obtain significant extramural research funding from programs (e.g. NIH, NSF, USDA). The candidate will be expected to engage and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in enhanced learning experiences and collaborate with scientists across disciplines, including scientists of the Agricultural Experiment Station. This position consists of 50% research, 30% teaching, and 20% assigned service as Coordinator to direct the Functional Genomics Core Facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
