Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for the day to day accounting of the Institute to include Kuali Financial System (KFS), Budget Preparation and Maintenance (BPM), accounts payable, accounts receivable, foundation accounts, and the invoice system. Liaisons with campus, state, and federal offices in reference to budget, and invoices. In addition, this position will work and collaborate with other staff to audit payments and reconcile accounts, as well as, provide support for administrative operations of the Institute and the Director’s office. The successful candidate will provide accounting and support to ensure the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related fields.
Experience:
Five years of experience in accounting, budgeting, finance or other related fields.
Experience with Financial Systems, student accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice systems and credit card compliance.
Experience interacting with campus, state, and federal offices in reference to budget, student accounts, and invoices.
Preferences:
Experience with grant account reporting including preparation, review and application processing, reconciliation and support.
Skilled at dealing with multiple activities and deadlines. Highly self-motivated with the personal skills to interact with both customers and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to analyze situations and facts from a variety of sources in order to exercise creativity and independent judgment toward resolving conflicts and/or suggesting solutions.
Ability to lead study and analysis of programs and to develop recommendations for improvements and enhancement of procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and execute complicated assignments on a continual basis without supervision or instruction. Attention to detail is a must.
Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware and software. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel or other database programs.

Physical Demands
Physical Demands:
Light Office work. May occasionally exert 25 pounds of force in the receipt, maintenance, and delivery of office supplies and related items. Position may also require long periods of sitting.
This position is located near a fire training buildings and props. These buildings and props are used for live burns, which could periodically result in the odor of smoke throughout the administrative buildings, depending on weather conditions.
