Summary

The Mary H Weiser Food Allergy Center has an opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator to manage a clinical trial involving COVID-19 vaccinations. This is a term-limited (1-2 years) position. At the end of the stated term, the appointment will terminate and will not be eligible for Reduction in Force (RIF) benefits

This clinical research coordinator (CRC) position may provide study coordination for multiple clinical research studies depending on complexity that range from moderate to complex. Coordinator experience and mastery of all job duties from the CRC-Technician position on the Michigan Medicine CRC Career Ladder is required. This position should be able to perform tasks and make decisions independently, consistently, and accurately, and demonstrate that they have achieved a moderate level of expertise in all their skills and abilities resulting in high quality work. It is presumed that this position is able to apply their skills to a broad range of different types of clinical studies, navigate available resources appropriately, effectively use all tools and job aids at their disposal and operate e-clinical technologies with a reasonable degree of proficiency. This position can perform the majority of tasks independently and perform quality checks of their work. They also know where and how to identify appropriate resources and support and are able to discern when to escalate issues needing additional intervention. Responsibilities*

Day-to-day conduct of clinical trial activities in COVID-19 vaccination. Responsibilities will include screening, consent, and evaluation of subjects, maintenance of accurate source documentation, electronic data entry, and management of the study schedule. The candidate will be responsible for working with investigators and other members of the research team as well as University of Michigan Core units and labs to assure efficient and accurate study conduct and record keeping.  This work may also include institutional review board interactions.

Supervision Received:  This position reports directly to the Faculty Principal Investigator

Required Qualifications*

• Experience working with adults and potentially children in research studies.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve effectively and efficiently and work well with time constraints and deadlines.
• Demonstrated accountability and dependability with independent work.
• Prior proficiency in basic office software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Assistant Specific:

• High school diploma or GED is necessary.

Technician Specific:

• Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary

Associate Specific:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.   
• Certification is required through Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Society of Clinical Research Association (SOCRA) as a Certified Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP) and must be achieved by 01/01/24.  After 01/01/24, certification is required within six months of date of hire.  
• Minimum 2 years of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. 

Desired Qualifications*

• 4+ years of direct related experience
• Previous experience with institutional review board interaction, including study protocol management.
• Prior proficiency in research data entry systems including REDCap.
