Job Description
SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) MANAGER, Economics/Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to assume a position in a research center dedicated to fostering an equitable, collaborative, and inclusive culture, and work closely with senior leadership and MIT central offices as a thought partner and advocate for these values. Will play a critical role in developing J-PAL policies and procedures and providing directives for the retention, engagement, and recruitment efforts of the HR Team; land ead and advise the team’s performance management process, compensation determinations, rewards and recognition programs, and professional development with the support of the J-PAL and MIT HR Teams.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years’ related HR experience; experience leading and managing teams; experience working with senior management on strategic, organization-wide aspects of HR; experience with recruitment, staff morale, and retention policies; comfort leading small/large groups; and attention to detail. Must be able to effectively communicate with staff at all levels; maintain confidentiality; anticipate, plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines; multitask, organize, and manage a high work volume; manage numerous requests from a variety of parties; and work strategically on J-PAL’s HR needs. This is a full-time position located in Cambridge, Massachusetts at the J-PAL Global office on the MIT Campus.
The J-PAL office is open Monday through Friday, but its highly flexible work policy, J-Flex, allows for this role to be present in the office as few as two days per week to coincide with the greatest staff presence.
